Most of the reasons I’ve been late to update this past week are personal, but for the sake of communication I thought I should post something even if it is a bit vague. To put sum it up neatly, I’m still struggling with getting ill on a semi-monthly basis, and I still can’t afford a doctor’s visit just yet. Although I did check prices about it, and it is an attainable goal within a few months. So no worries, it’s a temporary situation.
I don’t think I have hit a complete 3-update week in the entire month’s time that I have been trying do do so. I know that I can accomplish this when I don’t have other distractions, but being in the thick of con season, it was too ambitious to start off right away. In addition to the other websites I work for, I’ve been formatting 5 different books for print and pulling together everything that I can find for convention supplies.
So What I’m going to end up doing is still strive my hardest to keep up, but really just change the bonus time frame to the months of July, August, and September which would be after I’ve returned from con season.
If I could make Lavender Legend my full-time job then I’d love to do 3x a week updates on a regular basis for the long term, but that doesn’t look possible at this point in time.
Podcast Show: Jamie and Tessa’s Artsplosion
by jamie on 04/27/2013 at 10:46 pmMy fellow Filthy Figments contributor Tessa and I are going to start a weekly podcast show in which we’ll talk about the process of making webcomics, and demonstrate some techniques for you live on LiveStream. The first episode is going to start Monday at 9 PM Central time at this link; however you won’t find much there right now, since it will be our first broadcast. Please bookmark it and tune in when we go live. Of course, I’ll post a reminder of it when it comes the time. If you can’t make it, we’ll upload the recording for you to check out at your convenience.
The first topic will be the rule of heads, and how to properly apply the concept to your drawings. The reason I chose to talk about this subject is that there is a lot of misteaching and misconception about this “rule” which causes beginners to reject the idea completely.
Of course, it won’t all be serious business since me and Tessa will be joking around the whole time. That’s why the show is rated NC-17, for all the f-bombs and crass humor we’ll probably end up making. We’ll also answer your questions and have an off-topic segment of the show, if enough people show up for it.
Can’t wait!
Hi everyone,
You probably notice a significant lack of updates today. I apologize. I have been trying to clear out all of my commissions before April begins, and the 3x a week updates starts (this was a reward for the Kickstarter). But here it is, Monday, and I still have a deadline for another website breathing down my neck. So I’ve decided that I’m going to be on a “break” until April 1st, which will begin the Monday-Wednesday-Friday updates.
So essentially the news is, I’m taking about a week off, and when I get back, more updates than ever.
BTW, our Kickstarter is almost over! Your last chance to back us and get some cool rewards. If you wanted to get the sold-out 3-book set, the quantities have been increased so you can now order it. Here’s another sneak peek at a reward wallpaper you can get if you contribute any amount.
I got sick again this week, so I’m behind on my work. I’ll try to catch up by Friday, and at least by the following Monday for sure.
I thought I’d talk about the kind of fevers I get pretty often in case anybody was wondering or was worried about my health.
Put it behind a cut here, in case it gets tl;dr.
